Increase Self-Awareness through Art
What exactly is self-awareness? And how can we improve our self-awareness through the use of art?
Art can be a powerful tool for self-awareness and growth. Knowing how to use art helps open the door to bringing about a new perspective on life. As we grow in self-awareness, we have the opportunity to discover who we truly are and experience life more authentically.
Led by registered art psychotherapist, Buvenasvari Pragasam (AThR), from Solace Art Psychotherapy, this workshop will touch on the importance of self-awareness and how art directives can be used to increase our personal growth and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves.
A brief introduction of our art psychotherapist:
Buvenasvari Pragasam (MA Art Therapy, BA Psychology, Managing Director) specialises in providing trauma-informed art psychotherapy sessions to youths and adults with complex trauma experiences. Her personal experiences and the challenges faced when working with youths under MSF influenced her to develop her own framework that aids her clients in processing their past difficult experiences in a safe and protected manner.
Buvenasvari also conducts training for mental health professionals to share resources, knowledge, and experiences in order to encourage them to adopt a trauma-informed approach towards their clients. She is a firm believer that addressing and processing past difficult traumatic experiences can lead people to rediscover their healthy inner self, which is crucial in leading a quality life.
